Hello Binghamton community! The recent effects of Hurricane Helene hit the communities of Western North Carolina especially hard. This region has long been one of the most important centers of American music, often considered the birthplace of Appalachian music. It was here that the ballads of European settlers met the blues of New Orleans and its effects can be felt the worldwide! It is our hope that the Binghamton community, which is no stranger to the hard earned knowledge of what a flood can do to a community, will help out in a small but meaningful way. A group of Binghamton musicians will be hosting this event in order to raise funds to help rebuild a local WNC community center that was completely washed away with the flood. The ‘Marshall Depot’ has been hosting live music and community events for over thirty years! It is an important meeting place and community center that represents the areas strong cultural identity. So please join us at Atomic Toms for a night of music, food and drinks in honor and support of a community in need.
