A FUNDRAISER FOR THE ARTIST IN RESIDENCY PROGRAM

Give pieces of your art collection a second life!

Start the year by donating unused items from your art collection and finding new treasures at BCAC’s RE/Collected Art Sale!
Throughout January, we are collecting donations from community members of artworks that are unused or no longer being displayed. Then we’ll be holding a week-long sale of artworks* priced to sell out! All proceeds from the Art Sale will directly support BCAC’s Artist in Residence Program.

*While the sale will feature a special selection of works generously donated by local artists, most of the inventory will be pieces collected from community members like you!

DONATION DATES: January 4 – 25
Tues-Sat from 11-3 and Thurs from 11-8 at BCAC • 223 State Street, Binghamton

DONATION GUIDELINES
Donate art that you inherited, that you’d like to downsize, that you received as gifts, that has been stashed away for years, or that isn’t quite your style anymore. If you are ready to pass it on, consider donating it to BCAC. Artworks can be professional or amateur, old or new.

Donated work can include: paintings, photography, and all other 2D types of work, preferably framed. We also love sculptures (small), embroidery, handmade pottery, fiber art, and other functional art.

We are not ask working artists to donate their own work … this donation drive is for community members with unused artwork ready for a new home. Clean out your storage space and send artworks to BCAC today!

SALE DATES: February 7-15, 2025
Tues-Sat from 11-3 and Thurs from 11-8 • Come back to browse the sale, starting on First Friday February in the BCAC Artist in Residence Studio, 223 State Street, Binghamton

CONDITION OF THE ART

Artwork must be matted, mounted or framed. Please donate work that is in good shape (no mold, no broken glass, no broken frames). Please clean the artwork and glass before dropping it off.
SHARE STORIES
We welcome any information about the artwork: the name of the artist, an interesting story about the work, where it was purchased, when it was made. Please write down any interesting information and tape it to the back of the work. One short sentence is good: “Aunt Ginny made this in her 1963 still life watercolor class;” or “I purchased this in Juneau, Alaska at a gallery in the 80’s” or “This was a gift from a student from Japan.”

WE DO NOT ACCEPT THE FOLLOWING

– Rolled up work
– Artwork that is not mounted or framed
– Books
– Work that has mold, broken glass, or broken frames
– Work that is disintegrating, peeling or flaking
– Work that weighs over 20 pounds
– Work that is larger than 40″ wide/high

PRICING AND ORGANIZING

We have a couple of art appraisers that come and look over everything before the sale starts to see if there is anything of great value. However, sale artwork will be priced very low so we can sell it all! Prices range from $1 to $50 and are determined by BCAC staff. If you believe something is of value that you’d love us to know about, please attach a note.

AFTER THE SALE

Work that doesn’t sell is either stored for the following year, or given away to local not for profit organizations.

TAX EXEMPTIONS

BCAC is a not for profit organization and can give you a signed receipt for your donations. However, the donor fills in the value of the donated work and/or a list of what was donated. We provide a date and a signature.
WE ARE LOOKING FORWARD TO THIS NEW EVENT…

THANKS FOR YOUR SUPPORT!
