Dear Friends of the Binghamton Philharmonic,
Due to COVID concerns, we have decided to postpone our January 29 Wallenberg Festival.
As you may know, the Forum Theatre ventilation system is equipped with MERV 13 air filters, UV sterilizers, and an enhanced air refresh rate, and we are very confident in the Forum Theatre as a safe place for our patrons and musicians. With the Wallenberg Festival, however, we are concerned about musician safety, since the main feature of the concert is the appearance of three orchestras, including a side-by-side performance with the Binghamton Youth Symphony and the Binghamton Philharmonic.
We are hoping to reschedule the concert for later this spring. With so many moving parts, that may not be possible, in which case, we would reschedule the concert for our 2022-2023 Season.
Meanwhile, we continue to plan for our Wallenberg Festival Fundraiser at the Kilmer Mansion and you are invited! This intimate event, on Wednesday, January 26 from 7-8:30pm, presents the very unique opportunity to hear historic Binghamton Symphony and Choral Society recordings on high-end audio equipment, courtesy of audioclassics.com. Tickets are only $20 ($10 for Wallenberg Festival ticket holders). A reception will follow.
I wish you good health. We will get through this together!
Sincerely,
Dr. Paul Cienniwa
Executive Director
