HOTA recipient Pesce loved sharing art with the community

BAMirror and the Broome County Arts Council offer their condolences to the family of Heart of the Arts recipient William “Bill” Pesce, who passed away Feb. 18. Pesce, 83, and his wife, Johanne, shared a 2009 HOTA award for their work developing the Windsor Whip Works Art Center and Gallery in Windsor. The non-profit arts center was Bill and Johanne’s way of sharing their love of art with the community they gravitated to after years living in the metropolitan New York City area.

Bill Pesce served on many community-oriented boards including that of the arts council. His funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday (Feb. 23) at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main St., Binghamton, followed by visitation until 4 p.m. Here is a link to the Press & Sun-Bulletin obituary: https://tinyurl.com/y6rp733q.
