Binghamton’s Recreation Park is the inspiration for, as well as the site of, two free concerts that will introduce youngsters to music and show how they can make it themselves.

“Percussion in the Park” in Rec Park’s OurSpace playground will feature a piece written by student composers from Binghamton University about the green heart of the city.  After Binghamton Philharmonic musicians perform the work, there will be an interactive session that will show youngsters how they can play the park itself as a musical instrument.

IF YOU GO: Percussion in the Park will begin at 10:30 a.m. on two consecutive Saturdays (April 30 and May 7) at Recreation Park, located at Beethoven Street and Seminary Avenue on Binghamton’s West Side. The event is free and open to the public.
