Ti-Ahwaga Community Players Children’s Workshop

Ti-Ahwaga Community Players are excited to again offer a Summer Children’s Theater Workshop. The workshop is for school age children and will run from July 2nd through August 5th , Monday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings from 4:30pm-6:30pm.

The workshop will be held at the Ti-Ahwaga Playhouse, 42 Delphine Street, Owego, NY.

This year we are taking on “Rats” in a humorous Fairy Tale musical from the medieval town of Hamelin. Produced by Sonny DeWitt, Wendy Germond and Christine Ryder will be leading the acting and music and Jean Graham will be assisting in the area of dance. There is singing, dancing and a lot of comedy throughout the show so we are looking forward to having a fun time, even with our hard work. There are numerous roles to be filled in this production and no prior experience is necessary as we will be working on developing the skills needed over the 5 week period.

This workshop will include lessons in auditioning, acting, music, dance as well as an introduction to scenic construction and technical aspects involved in theater productions. It will culminate in “Two Nights Only” performances in which the students will be able to show off the skills they have learned during the course of the workshop.

There is no charge for the workshop as it is funded by a grant from the Floyd Hooker Foundation. So if you are looking for something affordable, educational and fun for your kids to do this summer, give the Ti-Ahwaga Playhouse a call at (607)687-2130 and sign up. Hope to see you there!
