The Binghamton University Department of Music is pleased to present Nukporfe African Dance and Drumming Ensemble at Atomic Tom’s. A concert of African dance and drumming, directed by James Burns and Elikem K Nyamuame, will be presented by the Nukporfe Ensemble 6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 2 at Atomic Tom’s in downtown Binghamton.

The presentation will include African music performed by a full ensemble of drummers and dancers. African dance-drumming typically juxtaposes several art forms together including storytelling, pantomime, oral history and community wisdom. It is an excellent way to introduce authentic African culture to anyone who may have little understanding of modern Africa. Tickets are $10 per person at the door and includes dinner.
