This Sunday (Nov. 3), the Binghamton Philharmonic Orchestra will host the Broome County return of the Juilliard-based Dolphins String Quartet. The concert is part of the Philharmonic’s Garufi Law P.C. Phelps Mansion Museum Series.

The quartet enchanted Binghamton audiences last year when, in a breakout performance, it filled in for another group sidelined by injury. The Dolphins will return to present a concert of chamber music both old and new, including pieces by Erwin Schulhoff, Joseph Haydn, Elise Winkler and the group’s own composition, the “Angel Fire Quartet.”

Julia Grella O’Connell, the orchestra’s Director of Education and Community Engagement, described the Dolphins as “a dynamic group that’s full of energy” and promised a soulful and enlivening afternoon of great music performed in the intimate setting of downtown Binghamton’s Phelps Mansion Museum.

IF YOU GO: The Dolphins String Quartet  will be in concert at 3  p.m. Sunday, Nov. 3, at the Phelps Mansion Museum, 191 Court St., Binghamton. General admission tickets are $28. A cash bar will be provided by the Phelps Mansion Museum. For more information and for tickets, call the Binghamton Philharmonic box office at 607-723-3931 or visit www.binghamtonphilharmonic.org.
