The Social Justice and Labor Film Series Presents: Ban the 24-Hour Workday
This short film follows the struggles and victories of the home care workers leading the Ain’t I A Woman?! Campaign. These working-class women of color in New York State are being forced to work 24-hour shifts, and are only paid for 13 of the 24 hours. The workers are coming together to fight these sweatshop conditions for themselves and others! Visit aintiawoman.org to learn more about the campaign.
Film will be shown Wednesday, May 8th beginning at 7 pm (doors open at 6:30 pm). Discussion to follow the film with AIW campaigners. The Social Justice and Labor Film Series is sponsored by the Broome Tioga Green Party, Occupational Health Clinical Center, and Friends of MORENA.
