DARK WEB, produced by CHENANGO ENTERTAINMENT & SWEET STONE PRODUCTIONS, is the second of a proposed trilogy of movies involving private detective Stuart Tyrrell. The first movie was THE TRAFFICKERS (2013), followed by DARK WEB (2020) and THE EXPORTERS (in preproduction). DARK WEB was shot in black & white due to its film noir-style storyline. Shot entirely in Greater Binghamton, DARK WEB boasts a cast of experienced actors from the Southern Tier, Syracuse and Utica. Although sets were constructed for some locales, the majority of the movie was shot on location including the historic Kilmer Building and the Port Dickinson Police Station, adding great authenticity to the production. Besides the varied locations, actual police vehicles were supplied by Robin Alpaugh, who also supplied cars for THE TRAFFICKERS.
DARK WEB was entered into several film festivals around the country. The film was well received. It won Bronze, ‘Best Narrative Feature’ at Indie Dance Film Festival 2020, Los Angeles; Second Place, ‘Crime Drama Feature’ at Indie Gathering Film Festival 2020; at Depth of Field International Film Festival the film garnered three ‘Exceptional Merit Awards’ for: Best Director [Christopher Keeler], Best Cinematography [Jacqueline Justina Sissenstein], Lead Actor [Christopher Keeler]. At WNY Film, Art & Music Event (F.A.M.E.) the movie was a Semi-Finalist. The production team includes Christopher Keeler, Jacqueline Justina Sissenstein, Robin Alpaugh and George Litynski.
FILMMAKER BIOGRAPHIES
CHRISTOPHER KEELER: A Binghamton native, Mr. Keeler attended Chenango Valley J-S High School. After serving four years in the U.S. Air Force as a Law Enforcement Specialist, Keeler attended several colleges: Broome Community College ’77 (AAS); Ithaca College ’79 (BS-Cinema); Lynchburg College ’86 (BA-Theatre/Tech); University of Georgia ’89 (MFA Theatre/Performance) [Go DAWGS!]. Christopher spent several years working professionally in Theatre, Film and Television in Binghamton, NY; Athens, GA; Ohio & Virginia. He taught Theatre Appreciation, Theatre History and Introduction to Filmmaking at BCC. It was while teaching that Keeler met student Jacqueline Sissenstein, forming a long-lasting friendship and combining mutual interests in filmmaking and acting. Together the pair has produced two feature length motion pictures under their film companies, Chenango Entertainment & Sweet Stone Productions. They continue to explore future movie prospects.
JACQUELINE JUSTINA SISSENSTEIN: Jacqueline is a native of Endwell, New York, graduating from Maine-Endwell High School. Jackie graduated from Broome Community College and SUNY Binghamton. Her long association with performing arts has kept her busy with set construction, performing on stage, as well as producing with producing The Summer Savoyards and working with many local theatre and film groups. With her Sweet Stone Productions Ms. Sissenstein has produced two feature motion pictures with Christopher Keeler’s Chenango Entertainment. Besides acting, Jacqueline was camera operator for THE TRAFFICKERS and DARK WEB. For the past 16 years Jackie has been a licensed pyrotechnician, working fireworks shows around New York State and Pensylvania, including the annual fireworks display at Highland Park.
ROBIN ALPAUGH: A graduate of SUNY Broome and Binghamton University, Robin works in the New York State Senate, serving as Senator Fred Akshar’s Director of Operations. Prior to that, he has been the Executive Director of the United Way of Broome County and Deputy Regional Director of Empire State Development (ESD), New York State’s department of economic development. Before joining ESD, Robin was the Director of Alumni Affairs at SUNY Broome, where he continues to coordinate ecology course held in National Parks through the Biology department. Robin is active in the community and a volunteer at many events, serving on the Spiedie Fest and Balloon Rally board, member of the Binghamton Noon Rotary Club and on the Preservation Association of the Southern Tier board. He is past president and a founding member of the Southern Tier Young Professionals. He is a musician, local film enthusiast, car collector and an Eagle Scout.
GEORGE LITYNSKI: George graduated from Alfred State. He has ten years experience as an actor in community theatre and has worked over 30 years in set design, construction and lighting at Alfred State and Broome Community College (collaborating with the distinguished actor/director, Angelo Zuccolo). He has been involved in filmmaking for the past several years, working with Mr. Keeler and Ms. Sissenstein on two feature movies as an actor, set designer and production assistant, as needed.
