ABOUT THE GOODWILL THEATRE

Goodwill Theatre, Inc. was established in 2001 with a mission is to create and operate a dynamic regional Performing Arts and Conference Center with a professional Training Academy that will enrich the lives of our residents and visitors through education, events, and performances. In 2007, GWT opened the Firehouse Stage as the first performance venue. In 2008, the Firehouse Stage was named the Schorr Family Firehouse Stage.  Currently, the venue hosts over 65 events annually, including cabaret, classics, theater for young audiences, classical piano, jazz, puppets, and private rentals. Some summer programming will take place outside the Schorr Family Firehouse Stage in a large tent. Assistance is needed with event changeovers and facility janitorial and maintenance. The position will work closely with the Facilities Supervisor. This job includes many night/weekend hours. This is a new position with growth potential within a burgeoning arts organization.

POSITION OVERVIEW

In collaboration with the Facilities Supervisor, the Tech & Facilities Assistant is responsible for working at Schorr Family Firehouse Stage/Tent events and rentals as needed (This job includes many night/weekend hours). This position assists with tech and changeovers for all Schorr Family Firehouse Stage/Tent performances. The Tech & Facilities Assistant performs proper maintenance of all Goodwill Theatre facilities and Parking Lots and assists in trash removal, cleaning, moving, and weeding of all exterior Goodwill Theatre grounds. This position ensures that bathrooms and common areas are regularly cleaned in all facilities, including COVID-19 regular wipe downs. Additionally, the Facilities Assistant acts as the second responder to building security systems (24/7), assists in the clearing of snow and ice off facility sidewalks and parking areas in winter and makes deliveries and pickups as needed.

The ideal candidate will show enthusiasm for the Goodwill Theatre Project. The candidate will exhibit excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize, multi-task, and meet deadlines, to work independently with minimal supervision, and to perform basic tasks with courtesy and tact, particularly when dealing with tenants, patrons, artists, and other team members. Must possess a valid driver’s license with a good driving record and have a physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position.
