The Broome County Arts Council and Broome Arts Mirror extend sincere condolences to the family and friends of William T. Nurse Jr., who died Dec. 29, 2019. The 2007 Heart of the Arts Lifetime Achievement honoree was 75.
A celebration of Bill’s life will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 4, at the Schorr Family Firehouse Stage, 48 Willow St., Johnson City. Bill, a lighting designer and technician, was the operations manager at the Firehouse Stage. Over decades of volunteer service, he worked on productions and/or served on the board of directors for most of the community theater companies in the Broome County area.
The Endwell resident is survived by his wife, Barbara, who shared his interested in community theater; three children, 12 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and two brothers and their families.
