An award-winning film produced by local filmmaker Tim O’Hearn will be shown at 7:30 p.m. Friday (April 19) at the Cider Mill Stage in Endicott.
The film, Showdown in Yesteryear, tells the story of Daryl, a down-on-his-luck wannabe cowboy, who stumbles upon and through a mysterious old door, unintentionally sending himself to the Old West for the adventure of a lifetime.
The film was shot in an old Western town in southern Ohio and stars veteran actor Vernon Wells, who played “Wez” in The Road Warrior and “Bennett” in Commando (opposite Arnold Schwarzenegger).
Showdown has played the film festival circuit, including the Wild Bunch Film Festival in Tucson, Ariz.; the Buffalo Dream Film Festival, and the Shawna Shea Film Festival in Worchester, Mass., O’Hearn said. It won 22 awards at the festivals, including Best Feature, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Stunts and Audience Choice Award.
O’Hearn, who lives in Waverly, co-wrote the screenplay with Greg Lamberson. Aaron Bratcher directed the film. It was based on a short film that O’Hearn previously produced.
The film can now be viewed on Amazon, Tubi and Vudu streaming services.
