Poetry Workshops
The Broome County Arts Council hosts a Poetry Workshop Series, facilitated by Dr. Joshua Lewis. There will be two sessions, listed below, during Winter 2020.
The workshops are free for Broome Arts Council Members and the General Public. Pre-registration is recommended. Please email jlewis2@binghamton.edu for further details.
Dr. Joshua Lewis obtained his PhD in English from Binghamton University in 2012, and he has been a part of the local community since 2004. His poetry has appeared in SUNY Broome Community College’s literary magazine, Breaking Ground, along with other literary journals such as the Patterson Literary Review and the Edison Literary Review. He also worked as a poetry editor for the Broome Review and is editing various poetry manuscripts for submission.

Assonance, Alliteration, Consonance, & Onomatapoeia Workshop at the Broome County Arts Council
Tuesday, February 11th, 2020 at 5 – 7 pm at 95 Court Street, Artisan Gallery, Binghamton.
GOAL: The goal of this workshop is to explore how assonance, alliteration, consonance, and onomatopoeia can be used in poetry.
Synesthesia, Synecdoche, Metonymy, & Personification Workshop at the Broome County Arts Council
Tuesday, March 10th, 2020 at 5 – 7 pm at 95 Court Street, Artisan Gallery, Binghamton.
GOAL: The goal of this workshop is to explore how synesthesia, synecdoche, metonymy, and personification can be used in poetry.
