“Close to Home ~ and Then Some” is a two person show of oil paintings by Patty Porter and drawings and photographs by Diane Newton. Porter’s paintings focus on local landscapes, many featuring paths that offer the viewer visual choices, perhaps suggesting metaphors for their personal experiences. Newton’s drawings are landscapes of Ithaca and the Boston area (“and then some”) and her photographs are part of her series “What Rain and Darkness Can Reveal.” Show dates: September 30-October 31, 2021, with a reception Friday, October 1, 5-8pm—contingent on COVID protocols. In the Salon will be work by other gallery members. Hours: Thursday-Sunday, 12-5pm. 120 W Martin Luther King, Jr./State Street. Curbside parking and ADA accessibility. The gallery follows NY State and Tompkins County COVID protocols. This event is made possible in part with funds from the New York State Council on the Arts, administered by the Community Arts Partnership.
