God Bless Us Everyone! There is not a humbug in sight as, BLAST Presents: A Christmas Carol which is returning to Endicott for its 42nd year! A Southern Tier holiday tradition, this beloved Charles Dickens story, adapted for the stage by John Bielenberg, runs Friday, Dec. 09th thru Sunday, Dec. 18th on the Cider Mill Stage, your hometown theater, 2 Nanticoke Ave, Endicott, NY.
In this clever adaptation, starring Chris Nickerson as Ebenezer Scrooge and directed by BLAST’s Artistic Director Rob Egan, a modern-day acting troupe meets nineteenth-century London where all your favorite characters—Tiny Tim, the Cratchit family, the Fezziwigs, the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Future—come and entertain a sick little boy (Victor Bohner & Braydon Willette) who is unable to attend his local production. Also featuring performances by Zach Curtis, Jana Kucera, Michael Kane, Jessica Pullis, Adam Holley, Elizabeth Hotalen, Zoe Steinberg, and Logan Pullis, Cider Mill Stage’s A Christmas Carol, includes original music by Susan J. Peters and Ken Martinak.
The original production of this A Christmas Carol debuted in December 1979, with Tom Kremer as the stage director, along with Bielenberg and the original 1979 cast members, infused the Dickens tale with warm and unique qualities that brought joy to generations of theatregoers and have kept the production timeless. The story’s theme of redemption—that you can start over—whatever your failings can be rectified, is still very powerful and commands the audience’s attention year after year.
Tickets are $25 for adults and $18 for children under 12 years of age and can be purchased at cidermillstage.com website or by calling the box-office at 607-321-9630.
