Hakan Tayga, cellist, has attended Ithaca College, SUNY Purchase, and SUNY Binghamton for his musical education. His teachers have included Fritz Wallenberg, Inar Jeff Holm, Marion Feldman, Peter Wiley and Stephen Stalker. He has attended the Round Top International Music Festival, Music Mountain Chamber Festival, Spoleto Music Festival, Skaneateles Music Festival and The Congress of Strings. An avid chamber music collaborator, he has performed with Pej Reitz, the novo4tet, DeVere String Quartet, Chamber Music at the 92nd Street Y NYC, Bach Works NYC at Saint Pauls Church and many artists in the Central NY region. Orchestras have included: Syracuse Symphony, Orchestra of Northern New York, Orchestra of the Southern Finger Lakes, Cayuga Chamber Orchestra, Oneonta Symphony and Scranton Symphony Orchestra. Currently, Tayga-Hromek is the principal cellist with the Binghamton Philharmonic Orchestra.
