Acrylic painting can provide a lifetime of enjoyment. Learn how to express yourself using the vibrant colors of this delightful paint. You will be surprised how quickly your skills will improve by observing the instructor and painting along, during step-by-step class presentations. This class format will make it easy to get started and build upon what you learn, gaining new techniques and putting them directly into practice, soon becoming second nature. Enjoy the satisfying ability to represent the world around you in liquid colors, as you create unique works of art. This course is intended for students at the beginning-to-intermediate level, as it will cover the basics of painting with acrylics. Some background or education in drawing, while not required, is strongly recommended, since this class will focus on observational painting.

Reda Abdelrahman graduated from the fine art faculty in 1988, received a master’s degree in 1995, and a Ph.D. in the Philosophy of Fine Art in 1999 from the University of Minya.

Supplies needed:
Acrylic painting colors
Acrylic brushes (small, medium, large 2/4/6/8/10/12)
Canvas, canvas board, or Acrylic paper 16”-20”or larger
Charcoal or graphite pencil
Brush washing bottle
Bottle of medical glycerin
Small towel
Small water sprayer
