Artist Statement:
First and foremost, my art is my statement; some things can only be communicated through the senses, and not explained in words. I draw inspiration from the natural world and the place from which my dreams come. I hope that through the synthesis and interplay of scientific and magical understanding, which may be described as a narrative web of logical and intuitive connections, the universe can be caught and illuminated by the human heart and mind. This is the process by which my art and writing takes shape.
Artist Bio:
Mary Blaise Turgeon was born in Cortland, NY, schooled in Manhattan, and graduated from Alfred University (2014) with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. She has lived in Broome County since graduating and desperately loves the land and its many creatures.
