EXTREMELY SHORTS FILM FESTIVAL

SInce 1998, Aurora’s annual Extremely Shorts FIlm Festival has presented hundreds of adventurous short films, as well as hosting guest jurors, visiting filmmakers, and enthusiastic audience! This is an open-call, juried competition of three-minute-or-shorter films and videos of all kinds and from around the world. Each year, a different guest juror (an esteemed artist, organizer, or curator) selects 20-25 mini-masterpieces to be shown at the festival, held at Aurora Picture Show in Houston each May. Cash awards are given for Audience Choice and Juror Award. The short format of the festival encourages its eclectic experience, involving a range of creative approaches and genres including narrative, experimental, documentary, and animation.
