High School Emerging Artist Competition
Each year, BCAC invites the area’s high school art teachers to choose up to twelve pieces of exemplary visual art work to be adjudicated by arts professionals working in the community. This year over 100 artworks are featured from students at 11 area high schools.
Six awards are granted: Composition, Line & Color, Originality, Use of the Medium, Level of Difficulty and Best in Show. Each artwork is scored in the five award categories while Best in Show is awarded to the artwork with the highest score.
We are thankful for those who have been able to participate and honor all of our hardworking students and teachers in Broome County.
Many thanks to the Fine Arts Society of the Southern Tier for their support and generous prize for the Best in Show award.
Special thanks to our participating artists, their families, teachers, schools, Broome County Arts Council, the Fine Arts Society, and our judges who gave their time and expertise to adjudicate this exhibition. We are most grateful!
