On Saturday, Nov. 18, the Binghamton Philharmonic Orchestra will present “Faces of Joy,” the second performance in its 2023-2024 Symphonic Series. The concert’s theme is “music of abounding enchantment.” Featured will be Prokofiev’s Symphony No. 1 in D Major (“Classical”), Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 5 in E Major (“Emperor”) with Philharmonic favorite Andrew Russo, and Faces of Joy, a one-movement piece for string orchestra and — according to composer Wang Jie’s instructions — “a very handsome celesta player.”
The performance, conducted by Daniel Hege, will begin at 7:30 p.m. at the Broome County Forum Theatre, 236 Washington St., Binghamton.
