Dr. Michael Bogdasarian, chairman of the Tri-Cities Opera board of directors, announced today (Feb. 25) that the company’s general director, Reed W. Smith, has resigned to pursue other interests. Smith, according to a TCO press release, has been involved with the opera company for more than 33 years, starting as a resident artist and then moving into management. He has served as chief executive of the company for 13 years.
Smith, a recipient of a Heart of The Arts award from the Broome County Arts Council, also was recognized by the national organization OPERA America for his service to TCO and to the opera community as a whole.
