On Sunday (Jan. 12), the Binghamton Philharmonic Orchestra will host Ensemble Intermezzo for the second concert of its 2024-2025 Garufi Law P.C. Phelps Mansion Museum Series.
The members of Ensemble Intermezzo – Cathryn Jones, oboe; Ruth Berry, cello, and John Colonna, piano – were inspired by Leonard Bernstein’s Young People’s Concerts to share the experience of great music with all people. In a press release, the Philharmonic described the trio’s versatile chamber music programs as transcending stylistic categories: “Jones, Berry and Colonna bring great music in all its infinite variety – from classical to folk to jazz to spirituals – to diverse audiences.”
Join the Philharmonic at 3 p.m. Sunday for a “soulful and enlivening afternoon of great music across genres performed by Ensemble Intermezzo” in the intimate setting of the Phelps Mansion Museum, 191 Court St., Binghamton. A cash bar will be provided by the museum.
General admission tickets are $28 through the Philharmonic box office, 607-723-3931, or at binghamtonphilharmonic.org.
