From the creators of Ragtime and Anastasia, our fall 2019 musical, A Man of No Importance, boasts soul-filling music from the streets of Dublin. Bus driver Alfie Byrne and his troupe of amateur actors color their lives with art at their modest community theater, but the church abruptly shuts down their upcoming production of Salome. Meanwhile, Alfie is suffering from the bigotry and social pressures toward conformity of 1960s Ireland. But with the help of Oscar Wilde, he ultimately finds his voice in his search for companionship and acceptance. This inspiring story and catchy score of playlist-worthy songs will stick with you well beyond the theater.
