2024 BCAC ART EDUCATORS APPLICATION

On View: Friday, March 1st through Friday, March 29th

Opening Reception Friday, March 1st, 6:00PM to 9:00PM

Artwork Pick-Up: Saturday, March 30th , 11 AM – 3 PM

Broome County Arts Council’s Artisan Gallery invites all art educators residing (or taught in) Broome County to submit artwork to be shown in the Art Educators (Past & Present) of Broome County Exhibition, a group exhibition centered on works of teachers, current and retired, from Broome County Schools. Works will be exhibited during the month of March 2024 as a prequel to the 2024 Emerging Artists Student Art Show to be hosted by Fine Arts Society of the Southern Tier in April 2024.

ARTWORK SUBMISSION & GUIDELINES:

• This call is open to art educators, current and retired, who teach (or taught) in Broome County
• The Broome County Arts Council will accept 2 submissions by individual artists of artwork spanning all media (drawing, painting, collage, ceramics, photography, sculpture, fiber arts etc.).
• Artworks submitted for consideration may not exceed 30” in any direction.
• Artworks should NOT have been exhibited in past BCAC exhibitions.
• Artworks must be wired and ready to hang.
• Artworks must be submitted by February 9th as DIGITAL FILES (jpgs) only. Original artworks will be on display throughout the month of March.
• Please label image files in the following format: Lastname_firstname_artworktitle [ex: Barnes_Connie_Roses] to help us organize your submissions!
• Original artworks must be available for display in BCAC’s Artisan Gallery, located at 223 State St. in Binghamton, from Thursday, February 24th (artwork drop-off) through Saturday, March 30th (artwork pick-up).
• Works must be accompanied by a short artist statement to be added to the exhibit catalog and posted with the works on exhibit.
• Works must be submitted via this submission form by Friday, February 9th at 11:59PM for consideration.
