Business of Art Workshop Series

The opportunity for artists of all disciplines to learn essential business success strategies in a supportive environment. The instructors and facilitators have many years of successful experience in various business ventures throughout the arts community. Participants will learn many of their tried and true best practices. If you are already in business, thinking of launching a career as a professional artist (visual, performing, literary, and digital) or would like to attend and network with other members of the arts community – you’re welcome to join!

Portfolio Review

THURSDAY April 13, 2023 | 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm
Presenter: Orazio Salati

Join us in April for a Portfolio Review! Open to students and adults, Portfolio Review will give you the opportunity to share your work for critique, feedback, and suggestions in a non-threatening environment. Orazio Salati is a local artist and gallery owner as well as a retired art educator. He has many years of experience teaching and making art as well as reviewing the work of others, giving them the ability to make suggestions to prepare for college entry, showing work publicly, or simply exploring new directions for future growth.

Portfolio Reviews are FREE for Broome County High School Students, Broome County College Students, and Broome County Arts Council members and $15 for all others-Portfolio reviews will be in person! Appointments are 15 minutes long and there is a limit of 6 available slots.

How to Self-Publish and Even Turn a Profit

Broome County Arts Council (BCAC) offers a limited number of need-based scholarships for the Business of Art Workshop Series participation. Scholarships are limited and BCAC cannot offer refunds for registration fees that have already been paid. Request a scholarship here

BCAC will begin accepting applications for the Business of Art Workshop series in 2024.
