Business of Art Workshop Series

The opportunity for artists of all disciplines to learn essential business success strategies in a supportive environment. The instructors and facilitators have many years of successful experience in various business ventures throughout the arts community. Participants will learn many of their tried and true best practices. If you are already in business, thinking of launching a career as a professional artist (visual, performing, literary, and digital) or would like to attend and network with other members of the arts community – you’re welcome to join!

Applying for Artist Grants

Join us for a Zoom workshop covering the basics of searching, preparing for, and applying for artist grants! This will cover local grant opportunities, considerations and preparations for artists seeking support.

FREE for Broome County Arts Council members, $15 for all others. Limit of 25 people. WORKSHOP WILL BE HELD VIA ZOOM. The Zoom link will be provided in your confirmation email after registering and can be added to your calendar.

Branding for Artists

Branding is a powerful and useful tool for artists. We’ll discuss the benefits of branding for your art business and then dig into some of the components and applications. This information is geared towards professional artists who are new to the concept of branding or who are looking for strategies to use it more effectively.

The Finishing Touch: Framing and Photographing Your Artwork

Make your work shine! Learn some tips on Framing and Photographing your art from local artist Rachel Consolazio. Rachel received her BFA in Surface Pattern Design from Syracuse University and works as a ceramic artist and freelance designer. She has exhibited her work at over 20 national juried exhibitions and will be sharing her techniques on presenting your 2D and 3D work to looks it’s best. She will start with a simple framing demo and some inexpensive DIY techniques that will give your work a polished and professional look. Then she will share some basic tools she utilizes for taking photographs of both 2D and 3D work. If you are new to applying to exhibitions & festivals or just want to share your art on social media–this is a good opportunity to learn how to capture great photos of your work and present them like a pro.
